Compliance with Federal and Local Laws

The work performed at Gun FXR is done in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws for Cedar Park, TX. However, some of our business comes from out of state and it is not possible for us to be familiar with the laws of all jurisdictions. It is the responsibility of the customer to contact the appropriate state and local law enforcement agencies to confirm that the modifications and/or accessories being purchased are legal to possess at their location.

We are required by law to refuse work or the transfer of firearms to or from anyone suspected of being unable to legally possess them, or that we reasonably believe will use or transfer them illegally.

Privacy

All records are collected and maintained in compliance with ATF regulations. These regulations require the collection of information about the customer and the firearm being serviced or transferred. Gun FXR will not disclose your personal information, including E-mail address or phone number for any purpose other than law enforcement.

Warranty

We stand behind all of our work and will make every reasonable effort to ensure customer satisfaction. Gun FXR purchases new parts for all repairs and modifications from trusted and reputable suppliers and manufacturers. If one of these parts fail due to a defect in manufacture, it will be the owner’s responsibility to resolve the issue with the manufacturer. However, Gun FXR will make every reasonable effort to assist in equitable resolution. Used parts will only be employed if agreed in advance, and they will only be obtained from reputable suppliers. Parts supplied by the customer must be of high quality, appropriate for the application, and are not warranted by Gun FXR. Please be aware that modification of any firearm to specifications other than those of original manufacture will generally void the manufacturer’s warranty.

Shipping Firearms

Please do not ship any firearms, parts, or accessories without first calling to confirm that Gun FXR is willing and able to perform the desired service at an agreed estimated cost.

Long Guns. Gun FXR possesses and maintains a class 01 Federal Firearms License (FFL). Thus, from almost all locations in the US it is legal for the owner of a rifle or shotgun to ship it directly to Gun FXR, and for us to return it directly to the owner, without the expense of involving another FFL holder. Exceptions are major metropolitan areas such as New York City and Chicago. If you are not sure, please check with local authorities to confirm that direct shipping does not violate a local ordinance. All shipments should be insured and require an adult signature upon delivery.

General Shipping Information. The United States Postal Service, FedEx, and UPS have defined rules for the shipment of firearms. Gun FXR uses FedEx ground or UPS ground unless expedited shipping is needed. It is advisable to take the package to a shipping hub where the staff will be the most knowledgeable and helpful. Claim it as a firearm, insure it for MSRP or replacement value, and specify adult signature upon delivery. Pack with plenty of bubble wrap in a sturdy box that has no markings to indicate a firearm is inside. Enclose your contact information and a description of the work to be performed on a Gun FXR Repair Form which you can print here. Do keep a record of your serial number and tracking information. Do make sure your firearm is unloaded. Under no circumstances should any fired or unfired ammunition be included in the shipment.

FFL Transfers

When a customer purchases a firearm from an FFL dealer, he is required to undergo a background check to confirm he is legally able to possess the firearm, and the sale must be recorded. This is accomplished by the customer filling out and signing ATF Form 4473 and the FFL dealer phoning the FBI for a National Instant Criminal Background Check. When the customer purchases the firearm online or from a dealer in another state, the firearm must be shipped to a local FFL holder who will perform the background check and maintain the record of transfer. Gun FXR will accept FFL transfers for a fee of $30. Please do not have any firearms shipped to Gun FXR without first confirming that someone will be available to receive the transfer.

Delinquent Accounts

Upon completion of contracted work, Gun FXR will promptly notify customers their firearm is available for pick up or shipping upon settlement of the account. If the account is not settled within 7 days the customer will be re-notified as a courtesy. Items not claimed within 14 days will thereafter accrue a storage fee of $20 per week to cover the cost of secure storage and insurance. If the account is not settled after 60 days of storage, the firearm will be forfeited and sold to satisfy the outstanding debt.
